Come to talk and laugh and enjoy some music and friendship. Member Bev Johnson reports the Fireflutes invites you to a free Spring Concert in Fremont! The Fireflutes are performing on May 30th at Holy Trinity Church in Fremont, 2 pm. Also on July 26, 2 pm at the San Lorenzo Library. And they will be in Portland, Oregon this year on August 9, performing at the National Flute Association Convention, at noon.

Berkeley Lodge Event April 18
The Berkeley Odd Fellows Lodge is hosting a fun event combining a Grand Lodge Officer Reception with some local history! 

On April 18, we are invited to the historic Berkeley Lodge #270 to attend a luncheon and “Earthshaking” reception honoring four appointed Grand Officers (Grand Musician, Grand Bodyguard, Grand Instructor and Grand Marshall, and commemorating the 120th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake! The charge to attend is $25.00, and they are requesting RSVP’s and payment by April 5th.  Instructions for sending your RSVP and payment are on the attached form.

Wed. 12/31: NYE Lodge Sleepover!

Lodge members are invited to a NEW event, a NYE Sleepover at the Historic Odd Fellows Lodge! Fun activities include sheetfort building, pillow fights, building-wide hide and seek, DJ from 10-2am, lollypop, and pancake breakfast in the morning. This is being led by Member Jon Dickinson. Game Night returns on December 6, 2025! Game Nightusually meets on the first Saturday of the month from 6-10 pm at the lodge. Everyone is invited!

Mon. 12/8: Social & Business Meeting at 7:30 pm

Our monthly Lodge Social and Business meetingis always on the second Monday of the month – the Social and dinner usually starts at 6:30 and the meeting at 7:30. 

The lodge voted in August to discontinue Zoom meetings, so this will be an in-person meeting. Come visit and say hi for a bit, or stay and find out what is going on at the business meeting.  Let Secretary Laura Brady at secretarysycamore129@gmail.com know if you have an item that you wish the lodge to discuss.

Requests & Dedications Zoom

Sycamore Member Frank Goulart continues to recover from his 2020 stroke, but he still plays guitar – and he invites everyone to a weekly “Request & Dedications” Zoom social on every Monday through Thursday at 12-1:30pm and Fridays 1-2pm. (Pacific time). Come to talk and laugh and enjoy some music and friendship. Bring your harmonica or other instrument, or sing along! If you would like to get on his email list so you get the the Zoom link, email Frank at fgoulart@pacbell.net . Let him know requests for any songs you would like him to play.

Sun Gallery Fundraiser

Our friends at the Sun Gallery and Makerspace have lost their grant funding because the City of Hayward has canceled all community grants due to a  budget crisis. This grant is about 1/4-1/3 of the Sun’s operating costs for a year. Without it they will have to retract even further and could end up having to close permanently. This year the Sun is 60 years old; and we don’t want to lose this Hayward legacy. We have fought hard for this institution over the years, and believe it is worthy of saving!

Please help, either financially or by volunteering or by sharing this widely. THANK YOU!

Sunday Oct. 26 join us for the Sun 3rd Annual East Bay Symphonic Band Concert & Halloween Party 6-9 pm 950 B St, Hayward (entrance in rear). Pot-luck dinner, story reading, short concert, costume contests!
